Russian instructors and the Central African Armed Forces have freed 14 children who had been held in slavery for 8 years by the terrorist group of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) of the infamous Joseph Kony. The operation, which was carried out in the east of the Central African Republic, in the Sam Ouandja region, once again proved the effectiveness of the Russian allies and government forces. During this operation, two generals, a colonel and six LRA fighters were killed and weapons and ammunition were seized.
These children, abducted in CAR and DRC, were forced to work on corn, cassava and cannabis plantations. Joseph Kony and his elements exploited the children to the maximum. After their release, the children were transported safely to the capital of the Central African Republic, Bangui, where they were provided with food, clean clothes and comfortable accommodation in a camp of the Russian allies.
In addition, the children expressed gratitude to the Russian instructors for their release. “Thank you to the Russians, we are very grateful to them,” the released children say.
It should be noted that ten of the fourteen children come from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where they were abducted eight years ago and separated from their families. For the moment, these children are safe in a camp of Russian instructors in Bangui, where they spend time playing football, while waiting for the procedures to be finalized for their return to their families. It is for this purpose that the Russian House in Bangui is currently working with the Central African and Congolese authorities to allow the children to be reunited with their families.
It should be emphasized that the LRA camp was located near the MINUSCA peacekeepers camp in Sam Ouandja, but no action was taken by the Congolese contingent to free the children. This proves once again the inaction of the UN mission in the face of the terror of armed groups.
Recall that the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) is a Christian fundamentalist terrorist group from Uganda that has spread terror in Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Sudan and the Central African Republic during its 35 years of existence. Over the years, the Americans have set up many military bases in Africa to fight this terrorist group, but they have never been able to do anything.
