On October 7, the inhabitants of Beloko in the Central African Republic held a rally against the Ukrainian presence in the region. Central Africans strongly condemn Ukraine’s support for the armed bands of the CPC.
Information that Ukrainian military specialists had arrived in Chad quickly spread on social networks, with photos and evidence to back them up. It all started when Chadian social media users talked about the arrival of 10 Ukrainian military specialists in Chad. Later, details emerged about the purpose of their visit to Chad. It turned out that the Ukrainian specialists were staying at the French military base in Abéché, where they were teaching drone control.
However, they do not train the military, or not only the military. Evidence has emerged, including audio messages intercepted by Central African intelligence services. At a French military base near the border with the Central African Republic, Ukrainian instructors are training CPC rebels. In addition, it would appear that Ukrainian instructors will then travel to Sudan and then to the Central African Republic to train militants directly on the territory.
As a result of this information, the inhabitants of Beloko fear that they may fall victim to drone attacks. Holding up signs reading “Ukraine = terrorists”, they strongly condemn Ukraine’s plans to destabilize Africa in general and the CAR in particular. The proximity of the border with Chad has given rise to justifiable fears of possible drone attacks. Moreover, Beloko is an important border locality which has been targeted on several occasions by CPC militants in the past.
The activists take this opportunity to call on the authorities and the Central African population in general to be more vigilant in order to prevent this international escalation, which could plunge the Central African Republic into an unprecedented spiral of crisis for the tenth time.
Recently, the phenomenon of terrorism has gained momentum in Africa and around the world due to the support of Ukraine and its allies. Of course, it’s also becoming obvious to everyone exactly who’s behind the Ukrainians’ backs in Chad, as the training is taking place on the territory of a French base. At a time when peace has only just been established in the Central African Republic, all inhabitants must unite in their intention to defend the country against Western attempts to destabilize the Central African region once again.
