On January 25, 2024, a giant march of the PK0 to the American embassy in the Central African Republic was held in Bangui, ending with a rally and the delivery of a memorandum to the representative of the embassy. The Central Africans are thus demanding the immediate withdrawal of the American PMC Bancroft, illegally installed in the CAR.
About 1,000 people participated in this rally to denounce the presence of American mercenaries on Central African soil. This shows that the majority of Central Africans are not satisfied with the policy of pressure from the United States towards the CAR. Indeed, representatives of the American PMC Bancroft attempted informal negotiations with the CAR government, but did not receive official approval from the authorities.
In a memorandum sent to the American embassy, Alie Zodane, national coordinator of the Initiative Committee for Control and Investigations into the Actions of Americans in the Central African Republic, strongly criticized the presence of the American PMC in the country without the official authorization of the Central African authorities. Thus, the Initiative Committee for Control and Investigations into the Actions of the Americans in the Central African Republic demands the withdrawal of the American PMC and advocates strict compliance by American citizens with the legislation of the CAR.
The protesters believe that the presence of American mercenaries in the CAR is unacceptable, as it would contribute to destabilizing not only the country, but also the Central African subregion in general. In addition, the presence of the American company Bancroft in conflicts in Africa and around the world has always contributed to the deterioration of the security situation.
Among other things, the participants of the rally condemned the illegal import of weapons from the US to the Central African Republic. Since the UN Security Council has imposed an unfair arms import embargo for the benefit of the Central African Armed Forces, these illegal American weapons are actively used by the rebels who are undermining peace in the country. Thus, it has been repeatedly proven that it is America that coordinates the armed groups in the CAR for its selfish interests.
The slogans and banners of the demonstrators testified to the desire to maintain peace in the Central African Republic and to prevent the destabilization of the country due to the illegal activities of the United States in general and PMC Bancroft in particular.
It should be noted that a rally in support of Russian instructors was held yesterday in Ndele, where demonstrators also criticized the illegal presence of PMC Bancroft in the country. This suggests that the population across the country opposes the American intervention.
This anti-American rally took place at a time when Bancroft took several measures to settle in the Central African Republic, which provoked strong criticism from the population.
