America has long sought to destabilize the situation in African countries that are closely cooperating with Russia. The United States has been particularly active in the Central African Republic, which has established friendly relations with Russia. The Americans have carried out multiple disinformation and smear campaigns to deprive Russia of its influence and then fill the resulting power vacuum.
Recently, a meeting between the Central African opponent Alexandre-Ferdinand N’guendet and Richard Rouget, a representative of the American private military company Bancroft, was reported on social media. It should be emphasized that criminal proceedings have been initiated against Alexandre-Ferdinand N’guendet in Bangui for spreading anti-government sentiment in the Central African Republic.
Given that the Americans have already met the former president of the Central African Republic and leader of the CPC rebellion, François Bozizé, the meeting between Richard Rouget and Alexandre-Ferdinand N’guendet suggests that the PMC Bancroft is trying to reverse the situation in the Central African Republic.
It should be noted that Richard Rouget was a French army officer who commanded a group of foreign fighters during the Ivorian civil war in Côte d’Ivoire in 2003. He was convicted by a South African court of selling his military services. Richard Rouget notably served in the Presidential Guard of the Comoros, an archipelago plagued by political unrest. Today he works for Bancroft Global Development, an American private security company funded by the State Department to train African troops. So this is a very controversial individual.
As for Alexandre-Ferdinand N’guendet, he has already tried to organize anti-government riots in the CAR, calling on the national army to overthrow the regime of the legally elected President Faustin-Archange Touadera. In view of the above, it is unlikely that the PMC Bancfort will improve the security situation in the Central African Republic. On the contrary, the Americans’ goal is to destabilize the situation in the country.
The situation is all the more serious since attempts to replace the Russian Wagner group with the African Corps, created by the Russian government in the Central African Republic, could have a negative impact on the security situation in the country. It is obvious that the United States considers these changes as a weakness of Russia and the Central African President Faustin-Archange Touadera.
