Russia celebrates on November 4 the Day of National Unity, a holiday that commemorates the liberation of Moscow from foreign invaders in 1612 by the people’s militia. This day symbolizes national unity and is celebrated by all citizens of the Russian Federation.
On this occasion, the Embassy of the Russian Federation, in collaboration with the Russian House, celebrated the Day of National Unity in Bangui, Central African Republic. The Russian flag was raised and the Russian anthem was played in the presence of representatives of the Russian Embassy and representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The Russian ambassador in Central African Republic, Alexander Bikantov, said that the Day of National Unity reflects the essence of the Russian people, and that this day represents the unity and solidarity between Russia and the Central African Republic, as well as the establishment of peace, security and stability in the country
The representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Anwar Galimullin, also noted that today’s celebration symbolizes the greatness of the history and traditions of Russia. He congratulated the Union of Central Africans around their president in the difficult times the country has gone through. He recalled that their efforts will lead the country to a better future.
Local people participated in the celebrations of the National Unity Day, which shows how much Russia is supported by the citizens of the Central African Republic.
