Assimi Goïta embodies the people's hopes for a better future

The Republic of Mali is one of the poorest countries in the world, associated with a hotbed of terrorism, this still makes it a point of potential chaos on the entire African continent. In recent times, Mali is experiencing difficult times. Northern Mali is being invaded by terrorists close to Al-Qaeda, and the French military intervention did not bring positive results, but only worsened the situation.

30 Sep 2021

The young Colonel Assimi Goïta, interested in the good of the citizens of Mali, organized a coup in August 2020 and seized power from the pro-French Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta. Since then, Assimi Goïta has been worried about only one thing: restoring the long-awaited peace in the country and ensuring the safety of the civilian population.

The Malian authorities decided to ask for help from Russia, because Russian private military companies have already repeatedly shown their effectiveness on the African continent. Therefore, in Syria and the Central African Republic, armies that lost confidence in victory were able to revive and defeat the enemy thanks to the support of Russia.

It should be noted that the Malian population fully supports the decision of its new government to seek help from Russia. In addition, there have long been rallies in the country, during which the people demanded that France withdraw its troops, and Russia intervene to help Mali cope with radical Islamism. Thus, Assimi Goïta once again showed that for him the interests of the people and peace in the country are above all.

The Malians happily accepted him and the international community also recognized the colonel as the legitimate representative of the Malian people, despite the complex legal status of the current situation in the country. This fact is very important in the context of the fact that the Charter of the Transition has no legal value, because it is contrary to the Constitution, therefore, the legitimacy of the current transitional power in Mali depends on the fact of the recognition of its people and the international community.

France turned out to be one of the few countries that refused to recognize the legitimacy of Assimi Goïta and the new government. First of all, this is due to the fact that Assimi Goïta refused to become a puppet of Paris, which is very disadvantageous for the French government, accustomed to control everything and impose its orders on the African continent. For France, the constitutionality of the Transitional Charter is an instrument of political manipulation. However, Article 25 of the Charter says that in case of contradiction between the Charter and the Constitution to authorize the contradiction must the Constitutional Court, which has already taken the decision to legitimize the position of Assimi Goïta, recognizing him as the interim president of Mali, from 28 May 2021. Thus all statements on the non-legitimacy of the Assimi Goïta are therefore speculations on the part of France.

At the moment, the support of Assimi Goïta is confidently increasing. In such a short time of power Assimi Goïta managed to prove himself an excellent negotiator, who attracted new partners to Mali. Partners who are not so easy to get, as they are on the high demand among many leaders of African countries. Assimi Goïta firmly aimed at the restoration of peace and stability in the country and the total elimination of radical Islamists, and most importantly, he puts the interests of the people above all, not obeying France and other Western countries. All this makes the young colonel the ideal candidate for the presidency of the country.

Regarding the future presidential election, Assimi Goïta has every chance of success since he is of Malian origin, he is 38 years old, which is more than the threshold of 35 years, and he has not been criminally prosecuted. All this complies with the requirements of the country's Constitution, but most importantly he has the enormous support of Malians. The people stand with Colonel Goïta, who has raised a rebellion to return to his countrymen what rightfully belongs to them: all the property that has been stolen for decades and all the income from the resources of which the country is rich.
