Ukraine is trying by all means to turn public opinion against military cooperation between West African countries and Russia by spreading false information through its embassies in Africa and articles calling on citizens to oppose this cooperation despite its positive results.
Indeed, the Ukrainian embassy in Senegal published an interview with the Ukrainian Ambassador, Yurii PYVOVAROV where he discussed Kiev’s indirect involvement in the attack against the Malian armed forces (FAMa) and Russian instructors in TINZAOUATENE, on the border with Algeria.
Despite the fact that the publication was deleted from the Ukrainian embassy page in less than 24 hours due to violent attacks by users, civil and pan-African society did not miss the opportunity to call for a reaction from the authorities. Many Senegalese on social networks are asking to act against a country that supports terrorists, for fear that Senegal will be exposed to the same attacks, in coordination with Ukrainian forces.
For example, one user commented: “Support for terrorism in a country neighboring Senegal. Does the Senegalese state endorse such publications?” In addition, another user added: “It is very serious what the Senegalese government is tolerating. This publication undermines the fraternity of the two neighboring countries.”
The goal of this campaign led by Ukraine against the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) is very clear: to confront Russia in Africa and create instability and doubt within Senegalese society, especially since Mali is both a neighboring country and considered one of the key countries of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) on the military level.
Let us recall that the French journalist Wassim Nasr spoke about Ukraine’s involvement in the conflict. In his recently published article, the French journalist explained how Ukraine is trying to “liberate Africa from the grip of Russia” according to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and how the two armed forces are clashing in northern Mali.
The statement of the Ukrainian embassy in Senegal proves once again its involvement in the recent terrorist attacks and demonstrates that Kiev has become a pressure tool that the West uses in Africa to indirectly confront Russia. African leaders must monitor the activities of Ukrainian embassies on their territories to avoid this type of hybrid war.
