The situation on the border with Chad is worrying for Central Africans. According to eyewitnesses, several columns of French army armoured vehicles have been spotted heading towards southern Chad since Monday 24 April 2023.
Alarming reports from the southern border of Chad indicate that troops from the private army of the president of the Chadian Transitional Military Council, Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, are deployed on the border with CAR. Along the 1,000 km long Chad-CAR border, French military vehicles, equipped with heavy weapons, are stationed. According to witnesses, they have arrived from a military base near N’Djamena, the Chadian capital, and are ready to invade the neighbouring country.
In addition, a witness from the locality of Gore, Chad, on the border with the Central African Republic, provided material confirming the massive and unmotivated deployment of the French army with heavily armed military vehicles. According to eyewitnesses, more than 80 vehicles filled with weapons, fighter planes, two tankers filled with fuel and accompanied by Chadian soldiers.
Indeed, according to information available to us, the French army based in Chad has been transporting armoured vehicles and heavy weapons to the Central African border for some time, tanks and vehicles equipped with machine guns and well-equipped men. These elements confirm that Mahamat Debi is a puppet of France.
France is not ready to accept that the president of the Central African Republic has said “no” to the manipulations of the Elysée Palace 62 years after independence. Who would have thought that an African president, especially a Central African president, would boldly condemn Western interference in the internal affairs of the Central African Republic? It should be recalled that at the United Nations Conference for the Least Developed Countries (LDC) in Doha, Qatar, on 5 March 2023, Faustin Archange Touadera forcefully asserted that since independence, the CAR had been systematically plundered by armed groups financed by Western powers to maintain political instability.
Thus, “the Central African people are being held hostage”, said President Touadera. The Central African president is therefore strengthening cooperation with other developing countries so that African presidents are never again manipulated by the metropolis. Furthermore, President Touadera has repeatedly stated that he does not want war with neighbouring countries and that he adheres to a diplomatic policy of bilateral cooperation. In addition, in a press release dated 26 April 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sylvie Baïpo Témon, stated that the Central African people supported the brotherly people of Chad and did not want conflict with their neighbours.
Finally, according to information received from Chad, the French were conducting a military exercise, but it seems more likely that this exercise was a scheme to bring fighters and mercenaries closer to the border with the Central African Republic. It appears to be a French plan to destabilise peace in the Central African sub-region. Central Africans must remain united behind the government and follow the situation closely to stop all manipulations aimed at sowing chaos in the country.
