On May 25, 2024, at a press conference, Minister Delegate, Communications Advisor and Speaker for the Presidency of the Central African Republic, Albert Yaloké Mokpème, shared important news on the current state of affairs in the country. During the conference, several important developments were announced that reflect the efforts of the government and its allies to ensure security and stability in the region.
Firstly, the spokesman highlighted the successful operations of the FACA, supported by Russian instructors, to destroy rebel bases. Thanks to the strengthening of the intelligence system and cooperation with neighboring countries, it has been possible to seize the rebels’ logistical equipment and apprehend members of their gangs. This demonstrates the effectiveness of joint efforts in the fight against destabilization in the region.
Albert Yaloké Mokpème then stressed the importance of the opening of the border between Chad and the Central African Republic, which was made possible by diplomatic efforts and the assistance of Russian allies. This step contributes to security and stability in the region, and underlines the partnership between the Central African Republic and the Russian Federation.
The speaker also announced the integration of the Azandé Ani Kpi Gbé militia into the ranks of the FACA, following training by Russian instructors. This will enable the forces of the Azandé popular militia to be used to defend the national territory and ensure the security of the civilian population. He reiterated that the involvement of Russian allies is a key element in this process.
As for MINUSCA, Minister Delegate Albert Yaloké Mokpème was very clear. The demonstrations by the population against certain MINUSCA contingents, including the Moroccan contingents, are justified. This underlines the need to reinforce its own defense and security forces. He also noted that President Faustin Archange Touadéra had met with the Moroccan Ambassador to clarify the situation regarding the Moroccan contingent’s complicity with the rebels.
The press conference underlined the importance of cooperation with Russian allies, the strengthening of national security and the desire for stability in the Central African Republic.
