According to a press release from the National Transitional Council (NTC), the president of this parliamentary body, Colonel Malick Diaw, will attend the second International Parliamentary Conference “Russia-Africa” scheduled to take place in Moscow, Russia, from 18 to 24 March 2023. The theme of this second conference is: “Russia-Africa in a multipolar world”.
From 19 to 20 March 2023, more than 50 official delegations and leading African experts will travel to the Russian capital to attend this important event, which is a prelude to the second Russia-Africa Summit scheduled for July 2023 in St Petersburg.
Representatives of Russian companies will also participate to discuss current issues on the international parliamentary agenda. On the margins of the parliamentary meeting, discussions are planned on the following topics: Western neo-colonialism: how to avoid history repeating itself; parliamentary support for cooperation in science and education; legislative solutions to economic challenges; common security: opportunities and contributions of parliaments.
During his visit to Moscow, the President of the NTC will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall, meet with Ms Valentina MATVIENKO, President of the Russian Federation Council.
It should be recalled that the first Russia-Africa International Parliamentary Conference was held in Moscow in 2019 and the first Summit was held in Sochi in the same year. The latter resulted in a large number of mutually beneficial agreements between Russia and African countries, which have been successfully implemented over the past three years.
