Green to Grow is a three-year project implemented by a consortium of eight organizations led by Etimos Foundation. The project focuses on disseminating sustainable consumption and production practices (SCPs) to MSMEs along the mango, dairy and coffee food value chains in Kenya. It provides capacity building, network facilitation and access to finance as a driver for the adoption of SCP methods, technologies and sustainable green business practices. It is a project based on the understanding that an inclusive green economy, which features sustainable consumption and production patterns, is at the core of sustainable development.
A total of 116 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the coffee, mango and dairy sectors have benefitted from business model trainings and sustainable consumption and production skills development.
The objective of the event is to highlight the project Green to Grow by presenting its enabling approach to food value chain MSMEs of mango, dairy and coffee to make an effective transition to SCP practices while generating revenue growth, creating decent jobs and reducing poverty. Over 200 participants comprising of representatives of UNEP, UNDP, UNOPS and the European Union, as well project managers from a selection of SAG projects, relevant business partners and financing institutions, consumers and producers’ associations will attend the event.
The event is hosted by Etimos Foundation and its project partners E4impact Foundation, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Stockholm Environment Institute, Tangaza University College, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Sefea Consulting and Cassa Padana.
